The Italy & Greece Trip: Chapter 4 – Venice & Milan

Many of the pictures in this post will not contain captions.  They are just of beautiful Venice, and no caption is necessary

This is the hotel where we stayed. It was in a great location and we enjoyed our quaint hotel room at the top of 3 flights of stairs.

Our Hotel had a complimentary tea and snack buffet open all day. So we would go out for a few hours and come back to refuel and cool off and then head out again.

I think Italian builders drink too much.

I really enjoyed the clock faces with 24 hours

We took a gondola ride.

Our Gondolier was annoyingly efficient.  He completed his route about 10 minutes fast and then just killed time on the back end.

He was kind enough to take some pictures for us though.

As the sun was setting we experimented with shutter speed a bit.  This 30 second exposure included a boat with lights on it crossing the canal.

After about 24 hours in Venice we boarded a train and were headed back to Milan.

We didn’t really have much of an agenda in Milan, but did stop by the castle and explore the city a bit.

The real highlight of Milan was the hotel.  By far the nicest we have ever stayed in.  When you got out of bed at night sensors on the floor noticed, and turned on restroom lights dimly and a nightlight path leading to the restroom.

The next day we headed to the airport.  No upgrades on the way home.  It’s taken us a while to get this post up, so we’ll try to put up a post soon detailing all we’ve been up to since.  Thank’s for reading.
