Tummy Time, FireForge, & Addison’s First Forth (sort of)

Addison Update

We are trying to get Addison more Tummy Time and self driven play time on her play-mat lately.  She can do up to about 15-20 minutes on her play-mat in the right circumstances and about 2 to 4 minutes of Tummy Time at once.  She’s always had a pretty strong neck, fully lifting it up in small increments just days after she was born.

Addison is grabbing things more and more, with more accuracy than in the past.  Here she is using Daddy’s fingers as bottle handles.  Recently she is also grabbing Mommy’s hair more, interacting with objects on her playmat, and yesterday we watched her pick up her pacifier and put it in her mouth for the first time.

Addison is favoring sleeping on her left side.  She rolled herself from her front to her back one time during tummy time earlier this week, but hasn’t repeated it.

We got to go to another ball game at the Fluor box recently.  We parked in the county lot and Addison got to take her first trolley ride.  There was a single two person bench left on the trolley as we boarded.  Addison was obviously the star of the two minute ride.

Addison continues to move around quite a bit in her bassinet.  We can’t keep her head on her head shaping pillow.  Invariably she’ll end up kicking around until she is off center.  She continues to sleep with her hands above her head.

Addison is now wearing some of her 3-6 month outfits.  She doesn’t even really fit her 0-3 month footed onesies anymore… the girl is long.

Fire Forge Crafted Beer – Opening June 28

We recently attended a pre-opening preview of Fire Forge Crafted Beer, a new micro brewery started by two of our friends from the church Ryan grew up at in Columbia.  Mom & Dad Luckie were in town to see Addison and got to join in on the preview.  They open for regular business hours on June 28.

Check them out at the corner of Washington and Church in Downtown Greenville starting June 28.

More varieties to come… but the Vendetta Blood Orange Chamomile Belgian Wit is perfect for a hot day, and the Spirito Santo IPA is always delicious.  Keep an eye out for their brews with peppers added.

Addison’s First Forth of July Celebration

Fluor hosted their annual Forth of July celebration early this year, holding the event on June 23.  It was not only Addison’s first time attending, but also the first time Amanda and I attended.  We had an excellent BBQ dinner, funnel cakes, and for older kids there were lots of rides and games.  Addison fought through the sleep and lasted until it was time for the show.

Addison didn’t cry at all during the show, she’d occassionally look back at Daddy or bury her head in Mommy’s chest, but it was never very long before she looked back at the fireworks show.

End of an Era

Friday of this last week Amanda and I went into her office to pack up her desk.  About a week and a half ago she gave notice that she would not be returning to full time work after her FMLA Leave ended.  She had many warm well wishes from her team and this surprise waiting for her.  It’s sad to say goodbye to an employer, office, and team that you’ve worked with for 11 years, but we’re just very excited about her getting to spend time with Addison and the unknown future that lies ahead.
